There are several dental plans and insurance providers out there, and if you do a search online you can be sure to find them easily enough. But which ones are the best? Which ones will give you more value for your money?

United Concordia

The company boasts of its extensive history in dental health care. It has its headquarters in Harrisburg, PA and has been around for nearly 40 years, and currently employs 1,300, has offices in 27 locations nationwide and is servicing 8 million members. United Concordia is a financially sound company, with an A- (Excellent) A.M. Best rating. Reviews have rated their customer support as excellent, with their 96% first-contact-resolution rate and real-time call tracking. They ensure timely and accurate service which puts them at the top of their competitors. Enrollees and members can log online or call their hotline 24/7 to access the information that they need. Ameritas Group Dental

Ameritas prides itself with processing more than 3.5 million dental claims each year and a standard claims processing turnaround time of only 5-10 business days, with accurately processed claims exceeding 99%. While it is not accredited by the consumer watchdog group, the Better Business Bureau, it has so far rated excellent with regards to customer support. The company’s website features an FAQ page where most, if not all, of your questions will be answered. eHealth Insurance was founded in 1997 and has its headquarters in Mountain View, California. Its technology was responsible for the nation’s first internet-based sale of a health insurance policy. Guardian Dental Care

Humana Dental has more than 130,000 dentist locations. However, it is not available in all states. They boast of a proven track record of excellent customer service and claim that they have never missed a service guarantee, have a fast and accurate turnaround and quick customer service.

The Standard

This company offers great basic service – although they do not have individual plans, they have group plans that work best for employers who want to provide dental insurance for their employees.

Select Dental

The Select Dental Plan is a defined maximum benefit dental reimbursement insurance plan. It is currently available in most states, for groups or individuals and families who are members of the UASB Association.
